Alma’s Three Point Shooting Unable to Hold Off Cambridge

Alma traveled to Cambridge to take on the Trojans.  Alma started the first quarter hot scoring 19 points.  The Cardinals had 5 three-pointers in the first quarter.   Ty Heft had the hot hand scoring 9 of those points from behind the arc.  He was closely followed by David Ehrke with 6 points and Cooper Wright finishing up the end with 4 points.  Alma outscored Cambridge 19-10.

The second quarter saw Alma struggle to score.  The only points coming from Nathan Hock with 2 points.  Alma was outscored 9-2 in the second quarter.  Alma went into the locker room at half with a points lead.

The Cardinals continues to struggle with scoring only putting up 7 points in the third quarter.  David Ehrke led the scoring with 3 free throws. He was followed by Cooper Wright and Myles McTee both having 2 points.  The Cardinal defense was able to hold the Trojans to just 11 points to the Cardinals 7.  This saw the lead change to the Trojans who led Alma by two points with one quarter to go.

The fourth quarter saw the Cardinals with some success shooting.  They were able to put up 12 points in the fourth quarter with most points coming from behind the arc.    The scoring was lead by Cooper Wright.  He had one three-pointer and was one for one from the line.   David Ehrke and Marcus Pineda were also able to hit from behind the arc for 3 points each.  Ty Heft rounded out the scoring with 2 points.  The Cardinals were unable to make up the deficit and fell to the Trojans 49-40.  Alma finishes up their season with Arapahoe at home on Friday and starts postseason on Monday.
