Alma Boys Dominate the Flyers

Alma traveled to Franklin to take on the Flyers on January 4th.   Alma was hot from the field and jumped out to an early lead outscoring the Flyers 17-8 in the first quarter.  Alma was lead in scoring by David Ehrke with 7 (3 field goals and 1-1 from the line).  Cooper Wright had 3 field goals for 6 and Myles McTee had 2 field goals for 4 points.

Alma scored 12 more points in the 2nd quarter to the 11 from Franklin.  Cooper Wright and Ty Heft lead the Cardinals with 5 points each in the second quarter.  Cooper getting his with a 3 pointer and field goal while Ty got his with 2 field goals and 1-1 from the line.  Jarod Asche missed 2 free throws and made one field goal to round out the scoring for the Cardinals.  The score at the end of the first half was Alma 29 to Franklin 19.

Alma started the second half off leading the Flyers in scoring 12-7.  Alma had 5 players score in the 3rd quarter.  Cooper Wright lead the scoring with 4.  He was 2-2 from the line and had one field goal.  Burke Boehler made a field goal and was 1-1 from the line for a total of 3 points.  Ty Heft had two points with one field goal and 2 missed free throws.  Jarod Asche had one field goal for two points and David Ehrke was 1-1 from the line for 1 point.  The score at the end of 3 was Alma 41-26.

Alma’s tough defense in the 4th quarter holding Franklin to just 3 points.  Alma had 6 players score for a total of 15 points.  Cooper Wright lead the scoring with 5.  He had 2 field goals and was 1-3 from the line.  Nathan Hock had two fields goals for 4 points ad Burke Boehler and Myles McTee each had one field goal for 2 points each.  Jarod Asche was 1-1 from the line as well as Isaac McCurdy.  Cooper Wright lead the team with 20 points.  David Ehrke had 8, Ty Heft had 7, Myles McTee had 6, Burke Boehler had 5, Jarod Asche had 5, Nathan Hock had 4, and Isaac McCurdy had 1.

The Alma defense had 6 total blocks and 21 defensive rebounds.   Leading the rebounding was David Ehrke with 9, Myles McTee, Burke Boehler, and Cooper Wright had 7 rebounds each.  Myles McTee lead the offensive rebounds with 5.  Alma had 13 steals on the night with Burke leading with 5 and ty Heft with 4.  Alma moved their record to 6-5 with this win.
