Alma FFA travels to Kearney for District Livestock Judging, Biotechnology and Ag Communications

The Alma FFA Chapter traveled to the Buffalo County Fairgrounds in Kearney for District Livestock Judging on November 30. The Senior team received 2nd place. The Junior team received 9th place, and the middle school team got 1st place. The senior team consisted of Jadyn Heckenlively, Erica Barwick, Jennifer Howsden, and Jacob Barwick. The senior team will be attending state Livestock Judging in Lincoln at State Convention in April.  Biotechnology team of Gunner Prickett, Eric Kovarik, Matthew Bell, Parker Janicek placed 4th.  This was a new contest for Alma this year.  Chase Konert, Stephanie Eddy, Shelby Butts competed in the Ag Communications contest.  They had to make a commercial, press release, and a magazine cover.  They place 4th in the contest.  This was also a new contest for the Alma FFA this year.  The FFA Chapter completed it’s fruit sales for the year.  They will be competing in the Leadership Skills Event in Aurora in January.
