Alma Freshmen/Sophomore Lady Cardinals Won the Tournament in Arapahoe

Monday, December 10, 2018, the Freshmen/Sophomore Lady Cardinals Basketball team traveled to Arapahoe, Nebraska to play with Arapahoe Warriors and the Cambridge Trojans. The Lady Cardinals started the tournament making 11 points in the first quarter. Carlee Stuhmer had 4 points. Kaylee Baker and 3 points. Nakayla Hock and Madison both had 2 points for the first quarter. Arapahoe started the first quarter with only 7 points and that gave the Lady Cardinals 4 point lead. The score at the end of the first quarter was 11-7.

The Lady Cardinals had a great second quarter making 13 points. Carlee Stuhmer had 6 points. Madison Wolfe had 4 points. Nakayla Hock had 2 points. Abby Fox went 1-2 from the free throw line. Arapahoe just made 5 points in the second quarter giving the Lady Cardinals 12 point lead. The score at the end of the first was 24-12.

In the third quarter, the Lady Cardinals kept scoring buckets. Carlee Stuhmer lead the team in the third quarter with 5 points followed by Kaylee Baker, Madison Wolfe, and Abby Fox with 2 points. Arapahoe kept struggling in the third quarter with only 2 points giving the Lady Cardinals a huge 21 point lead. The score at the end of the third quarter was 35-14.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter both teams trading buckets. Arapahoe had 7 points giving their team total of 21 points. Alma made 9 points. Kaylee Baker had 5 points. Madison Wolfe and Abby Fox both contribute 2 points for the Lady Cardinals. The final score was 44 -21 with a win for the Alma Lady Cardinals, moving forward to play against Cambridge Trojans

Alma Lady Cardinals rip off the tip-off against Cambridge Trojans. Carlee Stuhmer had 4 points followed by Madison Wolfe and Abby Fox who both contribute 2 points, giving their team 8 points for the first quarter. Cambridge came short and only scored 4 for the first quarter.

The Alma Lady Cardinals went short for only scoring 3 points for the second quarter. Kaylee Baker made 2 points and Abby Fox went 1-2 from the free throw line. Cambridge took advantage of Alma’s low scoring, Cambridge made 6 points for the second quarter. The score at the end of the first half was 11-10 Alma lead by 1.

In the third quarter, the Alma Lady Cardinals maintained aggressively. Carlee Stuhmer made 4 points. Nakayla Hock and Abby Fox both made 2 points giving the Alma Lady Cardinals 8 points for the third quarter. Cambridge struggled in scoring with only 3 points for the third quarter. The score at the end of the third quarter was 19-13 Alma lead by 6.

Alma and Cambridge trading points In the final quarter. Carlee Stuhmer scored 5 points in the final quarter for the Alma Lady Cardinals. Cambridge scored 6 points for the final quarter. The score at the end of the game was 24-19 with the win for the Alma Lady Cardinals.
