Alma Junior High Gets First Place at Loomis Tournament

Alma traveled to Loomis to participate in the Loomis tournament. In the first game, Alma played the Wolves of Loomis high school. Alma led after the first quarter 9-8 with Katy Prickett leading for the Cardinals with five points. Loomis came back in the second quarter to tie the score up at 14 going into the half. Alma took momentum in the second half outscoring the Wolves 6-2 in the third quarter and 11-9 in the fourth to win the game 31-25. Leading the Cardinals in scoring was Addison Neal and Katy Prickett with eight, Abbi Fox with seven, Kaylee Baker with six, and Madison Wolfe with two.

With the win the Lady Cardinals advance to the championship game against SEM. Alma had the momentum from the start and never gave up. Alma outscored the Mustangs 11-4 in the first quarter with Abbi Fox scoring six points to lead the Cardinals. Alma kept up the momentum outscoring the Mustangs 5-1 in the second, 8-7 in the third, and 8-1 in the fourth. Alma went on to win the game 32-13 over the Mustangs of S-E-M high school. Abbi Fox led the Cardinals in scoring with 17, followed by Kaylee Baker and Addison Neal with four, Katy Prickett with three, and Linden Biskup and Alexis Wolfe with two points each.
