Alma Junior High Girls Take First at Loomis Tournament

The Alma lady cardinals traveled to Loomis high school to compete in the 2017 Loomis Tournament. The girls started out the tournament playing the Eustis Farnam knights. The girls came out ready to play getting a 13-7  lead heading into half time. Some hot shooting from Carlee Stuhmer helped the Cardinals get the victory and advance to the Championship game. Carlee Stuhmer led the girls in scoring with 11 points. Haylee Wing, Kaylee Baker, Maddie Ehrke, Nakayla Hock, Teagan White and Karri Christensen also contributed to the Cardinal victory. In the championship game The cardinals took on the Loomis Wolves. The cardinals came back from being down at half to outscore the Wolves 15-9 in the second half. The cardinals clinched first place with a 30-25 victory over the Loomis Wolves. Carlee Stuhmer led the cardinals in scoring with 11 points followed closely by Maddie Ehrke and Karri Christensen with 6 points each. The Cardinals will be in action Saturday February 4 at Holdrege high school at 5:00.
