Alma Loses Close One to Amherst

The Alma Cardinal Volleyball team traveled to Amherst on Thursday, September 14th for a dual match.

The Cardinals started off to a rough start losing the first two sets. In the first set, the score was 20-25. The second set was 18-25.

The Cardinals fought back winning the third set with a score of 25-23. Finishing out a close game the Cardinals fell short losing the fourth set 23-25.

Jadyn Heckenlively led the team with 27 kills and Tiffany Wells next with 10.¬†Maddie Brugh came out with the most aces for the team with 4 and Abigail Waldo and Jadyn Heckenlively both with two. Defensively Jadyn Heckenlively and Tiffany Wells covered the net with Jadyn having 4 stuffed blocks and Tiffany having 3. In the back row, Tiffany Wells had the most digs with 14 and Shiann Spady not far behind with 10. Up next for the Lady Cardinals the Medicine Valley Raiders will travel here to Alma Friday, September 22 for Alma’s homecoming match.
