Alma Splits Games at the Overton Triangular

Alma loses a close game to a tough Overton team.  Overton came into the night sporting a record of 13-2.  At the end of the night, they improved to 15-2.  In the first set, Alma lost twenty-three to twenty-five. It was an incredibly close game, but Alma gave their best effort.  In the second set, the Alma girls won by a close score of twenty-five to twenty-three.  In the insane third set, Alma forced the game into overtime with an ending score of twenty-four to twenty-six. Leading the Cardinals was Jadyn Heckenlively had a whopping fifteen kills and a total of three solo blocks. Maloree Graf had three amazing serving aces.  Dakota Hughes and Emma Smolik had the second highest digs with nine each, but Tiffany Wells had one more making it double digits with ten. Madalyn Brugh had an insane number of assist with a total of twenty-three. Dakota Hughes had ten amazing receptions.

Alma took on the Southwest Roughriders in the second match of the night.  Alma took Southwest to 3 sets.  The Cardinals won the first set 25-16.  The lost the 2nd set 22-25 and won the 3rd set 25-23.  This win brought the Cardinals record to 6-10.  Leading the offense in kills was Jadyn Heckenlively with 16 and Tiffany Wells with 8.  Madalyn Burgh had 24 assists.  Defensively the team was lead by Tiffany Wells with 13 digs.  The team continues to improve and they return to action October 5th with a triangular in Red Cloud with Red Cloud and Franklin.
