Cardinals Get Raided on Home Court for RPAC

For the third and final round of RPAC, the boy’s basketball team played Medicine Valley on the home court. The Cardinals had a huge first quarter scoring 20 points, while the Raiders scored 17 points. David Ehrke had a big first quarter scoring 16 points. David started the first quarter off by making a field goal. He then proceeded to make 4 three pointers! Ty Heft made two field goals, contributing four points in the first quarter. David Ehrke got fouled under the hoop, placing him on the free throw line and allowing him to make both free throws. By the end of the first quarter, the score for the Cardinals was 20 with the raiders closely behind with 17.

The Cardinals got outscored in the second quarter, leaving the score to be 28-43. Burke Boehler scored three points followed by Ty heft with a three-pointer. Burke then made a field goal ending the second quarter.

Coming out of halftime, the boys shut down the raiders only allowing them to make four points. Although they shut them down, the Cardinals still struggled with scoring in the third. Starting the third, Tanner Heckenlively made one out of two of his free throws. Burke Boehler got a nice two point shot followed by David Ehrke at the free throw line making two out of two free throws. Cooper Wright made two shots under the hoop allowing the score to be 37 for the Cardinals and 47 for the Raiders.

The final quarter of the game, the Cardinals didn’t score enough to win the game. In the fourth, the boys made 12 points, and let the Raiders score 14. For the fourth quarter, Burke Boehler started the boys off by taking a two-point shot. Cooper Wright then got fouled underneath putting him on the free throw line. He made both free throws helping the team score two points. Burke and David both made a three-pointer. Marcus Pineda got put in the game and scored the last two points for the Cardinals. The boys lost 49-61.
