Lady Cardinals Lose in Hard Fought Battle

The Alma Lady Cardinals played the Elwood Pirates Thursday, December 22. The girls started off slow with Junior Maddie Brugh knocking down a three halfway through the first quarter to get the Cardinals started offensively.The Cardinals dominated the first half going into the locker room with a seven point lead over the Pirates. The Pirates came out ready to fight the second half scoring 12 points in the third quarter to close the gap 38-32 heading into the fourth quarter.The Cardinals fell short of a victory losing 43-42 to the Pirates. Kaitlyn Harrison led the Cardinals in scoring with 19 followed by Maddie Brugh, Dakota Hughes, and Kayla Kindler with five point. Tiffany Wells and Natalie Hock contributed four points a piece. The next action for the Lady Cardinals will be December 29th in the Holiday Tournament. The Cardinals will face off against Exeter-Milligan.
