Lady Cardinals Lose in Overtime

The Alma Lady Cardinals lost a hard fought battle to the Amherst Broncos. The girls lost 63-52 in overtime. The Cardinals came out to a slow start being down 11-4. The Cardinals fought back in the second quarter outscoring the Broncos 15 to 10 to close the gap 21-19. With some hot shooting from Sophomore Kayla Kindler the girls outscored the Broncos in the fourth quarter 17-14 to send the game into overtime. In overtime the Broncos outscored the Cardinals 14-3 to win the game 63-52. Kayla Kindler led all scorers with 29 points. Followed by Kaitlyn Harrison with nine. The girls got in foul trouble having three girls fouled out. Although they played hard Kaitlin Harrison, Natalie Hock, and Tiffany Wells had to finish the game on the bench with five fouls. Madalyn Brugh contributed 14 assists and six deflections. Kaitlyn Harrison pulled down eight rebounds. The Cardinals next action will be in Bartley on December 13, 2016.
