National Honors Society to Induct New Members

The National Honors Society is getting ready for the induction of new members. The induction will be in the main gym, on Monday, February 26th at 3:40. To be a member of the National Honors Society the student must be a sophomore, junior, or senior. He or she must have a 93% GPA. Eligible students who are interested in becoming members in NHS will complete the activity information form, and essay. The application must be turned in by the deadline stated on the application form and no late applications will be accepted. Students will be evaluated according to their essays, teacher recommendations, faculty evaluations, and in the following manner: Scholarship; will be determined by overall GPA of 93% or above. Leadership; resourceful in proposing new problems, applying principals and making suggestions. Demonstrates leadership in promoting school activities, is able to delegate responsibilities, and thoroughly dependable in any responsibility accepted. Service; is willing to uphold scholarship and maintain a loyal school attitude, volunteers’ dependable and well-organized assistance, does committee and staff work without complaint, shows courtesy by assisting visitors, teachers, and students, and is available to work in fund-raising activities. Character; takes criticism willingly and accepts recommendations graciously, uphold principles pf morality and ethics, shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others, and actively helps to rid the school if bad influences and environments.
