Southern Valley was Unable to Hold Off the Outside Shooting from the Cardinals

Alma started off the quarterfinal game against Southern Valley with the hot hand.  They outscored the Eagles 12-7.  David Ehrke had 8 points in the first quarter.  He had 2 three-pointers and 1 field goal to start the game.  Cooper Wright added two more points and Nathan Hock was 2 for 2 from the line.

Alma continued the hot hand outscoring the Eagles in the second quarter 8-4.  The tough defense of the Cardinals was able to hold the Eagles to just two baskets.  Scoring for Alma was Burke Boehler with 1 three-pointer and Nathan Hock and Cooper Wright with 1 field goal each,  David Ehrke rounded out the points being 1 of 2 from the line.  This had the Cardinals leading 20-11 at the half.

 

The hot shooting of Burke Boehler propelled the Cardinals to outscore Southern Valley 13-8 in the third quarter.  Burke had 2 three-pointers, 1 field goal and was 1 of 2 from the line.  This gave him 9 points.  Cooper Wright and David Ehrke each added 2 field goals to finish out the Cardinals scoring.  The Cardinals now had a 33-19 lead going into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter was a draw with each team scoring 6 points.  Ty Heft had 2 baskets for 4 points, Burke Boehler was 2 of 2 from the line for the Cardinals.  Alma beat the Eagles 39-25.
Cooper Wright added 10 rebounds to his 6 points on the night.  Other leading rebounders were Nathan Hock with 6 and Ty Heft with 4.  Myles McTee and Hunter Dahlgren were plagued with foul trouble but still were able to get two boards each.  Burke Boehler had 4 steals on the night.
