Southern Valley/Alma Saints Softball Earn District Runner-Up at Chadron

The Southern Valley/Alma Saints softball team traveled a long six hours to Chadron to compete in district play.

The team played their first two games on Thursday the 5th. The Saints first took on the Minden Whippets and came out ahead with a score of 14-5. The team then went on to play Centura/Central Valley and came out with a score of 4-5 favoring the Saints.

On Friday the 6th, the Saints played the Chadron Cardinals and brought in another win with a score of 8-10.

Saturday marked the last day of play for the Saints. They went head-to-head against the Cardinals, a team working their way up from the constellation bracket, for two games, trying to battle their way to the top of the bracket. The first game against the Cardinals, on Saturday, marked the Saint’s first loss in district play with a score of 13-16. The second game, with a score of 11-0, did not bring favorable results for the Saints as it knocked them out of the district earning them District Runner-Up. The Chadron Cardinals worked their way to the top to earn District Champion.
