Saints Tear it Up at Chase County Double Header

The Saints took on Chase County in a double header on Thursday, August 30th. In the first game, despite allowing three runs in the second inning, the SVA Saints defeated Chase County 16-4. They secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by the Saints was led by Abby Cervera, Kynlee Marquez, PJ Dubbs, Haley Witte, Nakayla Hock, and Kaylee Baker, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. In the second inning, the Saints notched nine runs. Big batters were led by Cervera, Marquez, Dubbs, Witte, Hock, and Baker, who all drove in runs. Cervera pitched the Saints to victory. She allowed one hit and four runs over four innings, striking out four. Hock led the Saints with two hits.

In game 2, Kynlee Marquez threw a shutout to lead the Saints past Chase County 16-0 on Thursday. The Saints secured the victory thanks to 14 runs in the first inning. Marquez, Kyuana Kring, Kaylee Baker, Janessa Kring, and Abigail Cervera all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. In the first inning, they got their offense started. Marquez drove in three when she homered. The Saints Varsity tallied nine hits total, with Marquez and Kring collecting multiple hits. The Saints were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. PJ Dubbs had the most chances in the field with six. Overall, it was a great night for the Saints!
