The final week of life skill lessons included: sewing on a button, hand sewing a ripped seam, using a planner system, kitchen safety, using student discounts, and a special guest speaker - Harlan County attorney, Bryan McQuay, discussing laws as adults. The Cardinals Fueled by Beef committee is excited to be grilling hamburgers for all students and staff at APS on Friday, April 29th. Both the HS Golf Team and the HS Track Team have their RPAC meets today!! The Golf team is headed to Cardinal Country Club in Oxford for a 10 AM tee time, and the Track team is headed to Bertrand for an 11 AM start. We hope you are able to come watch! #ProudToBeACardinal

From east to west, the RPAC Conference has been hit hard--by wildfires in the past few weeks. We are truly grateful for those who have fought these fires and made so many sacrifices to protect us all. To show our appreciation, the RPAC Conference would like to extend free admission and a complimentary meal to any firefighters and EMTs who attend the meet. In addition, we will be collecting
cash donations to be divided and distributed equally among each of the RPAC school community fire departments. Thank you for all you do to keep us safe! #ProudToBeACardinal #RPAC


We have two classes going on field trips today! The 5th grade classes will be headed to the Water Jamboree, and the 2nd grade classes will be headed to the Explorit Center in Aurora for the day! We know there will be a ton of fun and learning!! Enjoy, kids! #ProudToBeACardinal

HCHS Physical Therapist, Marisa Gulizia, will be putting on another speed & agility camp this summer! This is open to ALL 7th-12th graders from ANY SCHOOL and will take place June 13th-17th. The test out date will be on MAY 16th after school at 3:45 PM.

The seniors are having a great time on their trip to Omaha! We started out at the zoo and then went to the Open Door Mission for their service project followed by some bowling and arcade fun at the Mark and then a movie at the Majestic Theater. This morning they are taking in the fun at Top Golf before going to the mall and then heading home. Thanks, seniors for making it a memorable trip! #ProudToBeACardinal

Here are the results from today’s District Music Contests at Southern Valley! Alma took 19 events today, and 18 of the events brought home a superior rating, 1 event rated excellent. Alma also received 6 of the 12 outstanding performance awards given to the best solos and small groups chosen by the judges. The concert choir, concert band, jazz band and jazz choir all received superior ratings from all 3 judges earning them district plaques. Here are all the results:
