For Fire Prevention Week, our Beaver City Volunteer Fireman, Mr. Ellis, brought all his gear and spoke to Mrs. Radil’s 2nd Grade and his 4th Graders about fire safety. He demonstrated how to put on the gear, played Sparky games, and let them explore the gear. #ProudToBeACardinal




Mrs. Stottler’s classes worked on teamwork and communication today in class by building marshmallow structures. The catch— each student had to keep one arm behind their back! The tallest sculpture built was 8.5 inches! #ProudToBeACardinal

Harlan County Health System will be administering flu shots to students at Alma Public Schools on October 22. Packets will be sent home with K-6 students today, and 7-12 students tomorrow. Please complete one entire packet for EACH student you want to get their flu shot. The completed packet must be presented before a flu shot will be administered. Complete insurance information must be provided in order to bill your insurance. If you wish to self-pay the cost for each child is $35.00. If you have younger children who attend Under the Umbrella, please note a separate flu shot clinic will be held October 18 at the daycare. On another note, we will not restrain students in order to administer the shot. If your child comes to get their shot and refuses they will be sent back to class unless you, as the parent, want to come to school to restrain your child. The fourth graders visited their friends at the Colonial Villa today. The kids learned about the western cattle trails, cowboys, and the songs that were sung to clam the cattle and pass the time. The performers were Joan Wells and Chris Simon. Their program was sponsored by the Nebraska Humanities Council and the Endowment for the Arts. #ProudToBeACardinal
